I hope everyone had a happy and blessed Thanksgiving. It is always a good time for us to stop and be thankful for all the many blessings that have come our way in the last year. I know for some, and maybe more this year than usual due to the economy, we do not feel as blessed as we had hoped.

 

Now it is time to start getting ready for Christmas. For most of us this is the happiest time of year. We get to see family we may not have seen in a while. We get to decorate our homes in bright colors and sing joyful songs. We get to give gifts, receive gifts, and eat lots of cake, pies and cookies! We also get to thank God that Jesus is the reason for the season.

 

We at Ezell’s Studios had a great Thanksgiving and are looking forward to Christmas. We have been blessed in many ways, but 2009 has been the hardest and tightest year we have had since our first three years of business starting in 1995. We did see about a year and a half ago that things might start going down hill if we did not start planning for it. So we started trying to get in to new areas of photography and graphic design. We put the word out and started doing church directories. We have done a few of them and done them very well, but the profit was not what we expected. We called on a number of daycare centers and are still working in that direction. We have upgraded our quantity and quality of location photo shoots to include models, families, children, engagement couples, brides, etc. That has been a lot of fun and we have gotten some beautiful pictures! We are continuing to seek out corporate customers for photography and graphic design. We are always trying to think of new avenues that would be beneficial to Ezell’s Studios and our customers. Even with all of our planning and efforts the hill has been a little steeper and harder to climb than we thought.
