Honor Flight 2014

Every year Gary and Joseph embark on a one day whirlwind adventure known as Honor Flight.

Today is Gary’s turn! He is all the way in Washington D.C. for the day photographing WWII veterans as they get to see the WWII Memorial.

Honor Flight was an idea turned reality by Earl Morse, a Retired Air Force Captain and physician assistant. Captain Morse made it his mission to get as many World War II veterans to see the WWII Memorial in Washington D.C. at no cost to the veteran. As a private pilot and member of an aero club at Wright- Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, Morse asked the club members if the would fly veterans free of charge to the Memorial in D.C. and spend the day escorting them around. Honor Flight was born.

You can find all the information about Honor Flight on their website www.honorflight.org and look for photos of Honor Flight 2014 on the blog this week!
